The weather has been rainy lately, so I'm working in my studio on my Human Electric series -- exploring identity in the digital age. I'm applying for a Guggenheim fellowship to support this work, so fingers crossed that it will come through (!)
I've always felt that I could "see" electricity, but then I stumble when I try to paint it. I've gone back to working with the landscape to paint nature's electricity, or at least to study it as best as I can. Plug mask worn by yours truly at our campsite in Virginia. The mask was made from cardboard and hot glue with a sand-filled fabric cord.
